MID NOVEMBER UPDATE

Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing well. I've been working on KARL for a while now, and I'm happy to announce that I will be ready to start shipping the first units in December as planned !

You can already pre-order KARL here ! I'm offering free shipping for the first 15 units as well as a 200€ discount. I plan to ship the first 10 units in December.

I've been working on the firmware to make sure it's stable and reliable. I've been using it for months now, and it's honestly been working flawlessly :)

One of the most crucial part is the update system, which will allow me to push updates regularly to add new features and fix potential bugs.

I've also improved the design significantly. The screen is now 4 times brighter, and the overall look is more refined. Quite surprisingly the hardest part was to find the perfect glass, that would let the light of the display pass through but also reducing the glare and reflections. I tried many (MANY) materials with suppliers from all over the world, and after months of tests, I finally found the perfect one ! I'm now working with PSC to produce the glass, and they have been amazing to work with, sending me a lot of samples to try out. Their products are so much better than all the alternatives I've tried, and I'm so happy with the result. I'm still waiting for the first batch to arrive, and I will of course share pictures and produce a proper product video once they do.

I've patented the "encoders over a display" technology !

The first version of KARL will be "MIDI only" as it's the most important feature... but know that I'm already working on a full Ableton Live integration that I'm already using in live: viewing and triggering scenes, beatcount, clip launch, etc. Basically everything than what a Push can do KARL will do. I'm working with a UX/UI designer to make sure the integration is as smooth as possible, as we have quite a lot of buttons, encoders and screen space to use.

I'm also working on a simple system that will allow you to trigger things on KARL (like displaying a message) directly from Ableton Live. It will work a bit like ClyphX.

During the last months, I've took KARL around France, Germany and Spain for some gigs, and I found it to be very robust. It even felt from a table twice (sorry about that, K) !

Regarding NORA, I've been using it for a while, and I'm quite happy with it. Unfortunatly, I won't be releasing it for now, as it still requires a lot of work to be production ready. It's honestly a lot of work to build, and I will be focusing on KARL for the upcoming months.

As a conclusion, here is a picture of KARL and NORA in my living room. This glass is still very reflective, this is not the one you will receive!
